Oops! Even I forgot...

  Forgot to post the Homework...my bad.

I forgot a lot of things.
1. Turn in your corrected tests.
2. Keystone species worksheet--let 's go over these in class.
3. Printed out graphs -- let's look at these too.
4. Re-test on Mitosis.  Expect the second test to be a little harder.
5. Bring your journals.  We should have some time for painting.
6. Leftover current events will wait till Monday.

Graph-ercize!

Sometimes I get distracted too.

Homework: #1 Fix your Tests. hand in on Monday.  Current events continues on Monday as well.

#2 - Worksheet/handout I gave in class (Keystone Species). Complete at home. 

#3 - Make printouts of all the Limpets graphs to bring in to class.
Put these on card stock (like index cards).  Not too small.  Leave space to write notes on the cards -- 4x6 card is ideal.   Ignore graphs where there are zero organisms all the way through, unless you know they were on the beach somewhere else.

[Harmons may wish to get ahead on homework.  Ask me.]  Thursday I will have a retest on the mitosis chapter.  If you got an A, you may skip.  Look through past homework blogs for videos, and study the diagrams.

I. This tells the First Main Point (clue: we did this in class last week in pairs).  It is basically the first page what you printed--some of you might still have this 3-page printout in your binders.  It is about the physical hazards/stresses and biotic conditions faced by organisms in the intertidal.

        A. xxxxxxxxxxx what this paragraph is about

             1.  detail, for example, etc.

           2.  another detail, etc.

             3.  and so on, until the come to...

        B.  The topic of the next paragraph

              1.  detail 

               2. more detail.  etc.

There are 3 main topics, with sub-topics and details.  Please type or print legibly in ink.

Homework Actually

Today's homework is to find a science news story, preferably biology or ecology, a current event. Print the article and be ready to tell main points and answer questions.  "Show and Tell" on Monday.

Monday we will work on graphing the Limpets data; can any of you bring laptops?  That would be really helpful.  Leave a comment if you can.

Just Study 4 the Test, but also...

Just study for the test, chapters 7-10, on quizlet.com search "prentice hall biology chapter ___"

Also anything we drew (diagrams, mitosis, etc.)

You may also wish to review videos from the last posts.

Then try to capture the big picture of this unit, its significance, etc.  I will have a short essay response, where you can tell me why what you learned was important to you.
